Watercolor Workshop

During February & March, 2017 – Doug is offering three @ 4-Day
‘studio-conducted’ workshops – 10 am to 3 pm – Monday to Thursday
(Doors open at 9:30 to 3:30)

*(The class on Thursday will wrap up at 2 pm with a final hour “come see” the
student’s work created over the 4 days. Open to Family & Friends)

Workshop 1 – February 6th to 9th
Workshop 2 – February 20th to 23rd
Workshop 3 – March 6th to 9th

If you’re planning a winter vacation in San Miguel during these dates,
consider signing up for one or more workshop as Doug shows you
his approach to loose, spontaneous watercolors as he captures
the beautiful light and color of SMA.

Each of the 3 workshops will differ in respect to the lessons, compositions
and/or techniques demonstrated and each daily demonstration will be unique.

Only for those who have previously sent a deposit.

Each day will start promptly at 10 am with a short lesson then an hour-long demo by the instructor followed by painting time with Doug’s assistance. After a half hour lunch break students can finish their morning painting or go on to another short painting. The last half hour is set aside for a general critique of the day’s work. Materials are not supplied however Doug will provide participants a recommended list of supplies. Home base will be a well-lighted studio in the Instituto Allende (same studio as 2016 for those returning). Students can leave their art supplies overnight in the locked studio. All enrolments are made directly with the registration office of the Insituto Allende prior to the start of the workshop. You are encouraged to sign up at least 2 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment and It is important to read the Instituto’s workshop Cancellation Policy.
