BACHEOR´S DEGREE IN
VISUAL ARTS

Even more than a degree, the Instituto Allende Visual Arts Program is a personal development opportunity for the creative person.

The Visual Arts program was first incorporated into the University of Guanajuato in 1950, with subsequent confirmation in official letters No. 103 of December 3, 1997 and 0174/98 of June 10, 1998, the Instituto’s visual arts degrees are issued from the University of Guanajuato.

The Instituto Allende School of Art and Culture is operated and supervised by the Art Foundation Enrique Fernández Martínez A.C. We offer an avant-garde Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts. In addition to extensive participation in the art specialties themselves, the program offers courses in the production, management, promotion, administration, and marketing of the arts.

We also include attention to the legal aspects of copyright, the preservation of the artist's cultural heritage, and the creative, analytical and conceptual skills required by superior professional preparation.

To earn a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts nine semesters are required, with sixteen weeks per semester. This includes eight semesters on campus plus one semester of practicum work.

  • Courses are taught in Spanish.
  • Each semester includes a course in University Social Service, which is chosen by students to deepen their artistic skills while serving society in some manner. The Topics courses in Semesters 4-6 are individually chosen to focus on special interests.
  • The language courses in Semesters 4-7 are French.
