In 2022, based on an idea of Jaime Fernandez (former mayor of San Miguel), Jesús Ibarra (Dean of the Instituto Allende), published the definitive history of San Miguel de Allende, San Miguel de Allende Its DNA (currently only available in Spanish) ,a comprehensive history with incredible photos from the past. In this course, Jesús will give us the brief version of the history accompanied by a large number of photos. Jesús’ course on the history of the Instituto last year for Lifelong Learning was one of the most popular courses of the term. We expect this course to be just as sensational.

Jesús Ibarra is a scholar and prolific author who has written a number of important histories. He is currently the Academic Dean of the Instituto Allende. As such, he is managing a rapidly growing student body.
