Summer Art Program for Children

We are pleased to offer a bilingual artistic program a in which children ages five to eleven can find new mediums and forms of expression and increase their creative sensitivity using tools and processes to open new pathways to knowledge and self-expression in an enjoyable and dynamic way. The program will be led by teacher Ximena López Magallón, assisted by a group of young people.

Students will have the oportunity to adventure out and play with differente mediums in visual and plastic arts. Each week students will see differente activities related to drawing, painting, textiles, sculpture, clay moedeling, sotry-telling / theater and jewelry – not limitating to other mediums and the use of recycled as well as natural materials. Children usually do three or four projects a day, with some of them multi-day.

We include a focus on Mexican traditions, as well as talk about the environment, do art /science projects, read books, and so much more. Our summer art program is jam-packed with such a variety of artistic activities that every child will find at least one art medium to love.

The minimum enrollment is one week (20 class hours) and materials are included in the tuition cost. Sessions are held Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, with mid-morning snacks brought from home and some free play time. The highlight of the week takes place every Friday at 1:00 pm, when children present their creations to family and friends.
